About IES

An introduction to Import Export Support and MD Tracey Renshaw

The Import Export Support story

IES is an import and export consultancy based in Norfolk, established in 2014 by Tracey Renshaw. Whether they are start-ups making their first import or corporations trading across the globe, all our clients value authoritative views and clear guidance from an independent consultant.

Since the launch of IES, we have helped businesses gain numerous authorisations and approvals, such as HMRC approved Customs Warehousing and Authorised Export Operator (AEO) status. We have helped companies navigate the new systems put in place after Brexit. And, on behalf of clients, we have made a series of successful duty reclaims to HMRC, returning hundreds of thousands of pounds to businesses in the East.

Most recently IES have designed and launched One True Version, a ground-breaking app for importers and exporters. OTV enables companies to cut through the mass of import and export data and highlight the figures that are important to business success.

Introducing Tracey Renshaw, MD of IES

In her career as a qualified accountant Tracey Renshaw developed an understanding of the complexities of UK import and export tax. At Marks & Spencer, as Head of Customs and Excise, Tracey took the lead in negotiating with HMRC. Her experience and knowledge was developed at Jaeger where she headed up the International Shipping Department.

Since launching Import Export Support in 2014, Tracey has been in constant demand from companies needing advice on import export strategy. Boardroom level experience means Tracey has the ability to link import export strategy to wider company goals, for instance hitting efficiency targets, reducing costs – and occasionally taking away major headaches from senior management.

Tracey’s experience has also led to appearances on industry panels and conventions, as well as delivering a series of specialist Brexit workshops for the Chamber of Commerce.

Appropriately, Tracey lives in the city of Norwich, a centre of trade with the continent for the last nine hundred years.

Tracey shone a light in the murky world of import and export duty.

Mal Fenton, Human Resources Manager

Government documents can be long and complicated, having someone to tell us what that really means in words we can understand is really useful

Daniel Housego-Watts, General Manager

When you’re dealing with HMRC you can’t make mistakes – Tracey’s experience is very reassuring

Mervyn Jeffery, Business & Commercial Development Manager

Thank you for masterminding the Tobar Duty Project and helping us attain the Customs Warehouse with CFSP status. You and everyone else put a huge amount of effort in.

David Mordecai, CEO

Tracey Renshaw’s point about confidence through clarity. I would 100% agree with that
